This notice prohibits construction work that generates environmental noise pollution during the week before and during the annual National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) and Senior High School Entrance Examination (Zhongkao) to provide a suitable environment for students.

沪府发〔2012〕37号 上海市人民政府关于本市继续在高考、中考规定时间内禁止建筑施工作业的通知 各区、县人民政府，市政府各委、办、局： 为了防止环境噪声污染，给参加高考、中考的考生营造一个良好的复习迎考和考试环境，现就本市继续在高考、中考规定时间内禁止建筑施工作业通知如下： 一、每年高考、中考期间以及考前一周，本市范围内禁止涉及产生环境噪声污染的夜间建筑施工作业。 二、高考、中考考试时段，禁止考场周围100米内昼间建筑施工作业。禁止建筑施工作业的具体时间，由市环保局在考前另行通知。 本通知自印发之日起施行，有效期至2017年3月31日。 上海市人民政府 二○一二年四月一日
