10月26日是广州市第34个环卫工人节。26日上午，市长温国辉在市政府接见了荣获2021年“优秀城市美容师”称号的100名环卫工人代表，与他们合影留念，并通过他们向全市环卫工人致以亲切的节日问候和崇高敬意。 环卫工人在抗击新冠肺炎疫情一线，在美化城市环境方方面面都是主力军。为增进社会各界对环卫事业的尊重、理解、关心和支持，广州市每年开展“优秀城市美容师”评选。今年的评选活动于5月启动，采取自下而上民主推荐的方式，经有关部门严格审核，从近7万一线作业的环卫职工中，评选出100名“优秀城市美容师”。
