2020年7月23日，新区管委会主任刘广阳主持召开新区管委会二〇二〇年第十八次常务会议。 会议通报了新区2020年上半年经济运行情况。会议认为，总体来看，上半年新区大部分指标也较一季度明显回升，经济运行好于预期，这离不开新区各级各部门的不懈努力，应予充分肯定。会议要求，要突出工作重点，全力抓好经济增长工作。新区各部门要牢固树立“生态立区、经济强区”工作思路，将“工业服务业保稳、房地产业建筑业促增、其他行业补缺”作为着力点，紧盯重点行业、重点企业、重大项目，全力抢进度、补损失、挖潜力，以优异的经济发展成绩为特区建立40周年增光添彩。 会议还审议了其他事项。
