The Guangdong Provincial Flood Control, Drought Relief and Wind Prevention Office and the Provincial Emergency Management Department have decided to initiate a Level II flood emergency response, effective 20:00 on May 10, due to forecasts of heavy rainstorms affecting over 60 counties. All localities and departments are required to implement defensive measures to ensure public safety and minimize disaster losses.

根据《广东省防汛防旱防风防冻应急预案》和省防总有关规定，省三防办、省应急管理厅决定于5月10日20时启动防汛II级应急响应。 根据气象部门预报，预计未来24小时有超过60个县（市、区）将出现大暴雨天气（即24小时内降水量100～249.9mm的降雨过程）。按照《广东省防汛防旱防风防冻应急预案》和省防总有关规定，省三防办、省应急管理厅决定于5月10日20时将防汛IV级应急响应提升至Ⅱ级。 省三防办、省应急管理厅要求各地各部门高度重视，按照职责分工和预案规定，结合本地实际认真研判灾害风险，及时提升应急响应等级，有力有序有效开展强降雨防御工作，全力以赴确保人民群众生命财产安全，最大程度减少灾害损失。 来源：广东省应急管理厅
