Amendment (II) to the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China

This amendment revises Article 342 of the Criminal Law to criminalize illegal occupation and destruction of farmland, forestland, and other agricultural land, imposing penalties of up to five years imprisonment or criminal detention, with or without fines. It was adopted at the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress on August 31, 2001.
